Birdfair

End time

Egleton, Rutland.

Rutland Water Nature Reserve at Egleton is simply the place to be to on Friday August 18, Saturday August 19 and Sunday August 20 to discover the latest in the world of wildlife.

Follow the wildlife celebs: Chris Packham, Steve Backshall, Martin Hughes-Games, Simon King, Nick Baker, Mike Dilger, David Lindo, Bill Oddie and Miranda Krestovnikoff are among those who have signed up to be there.

There will be four daytime lecture programmes, quizzes plus fun and games for all the family – so come and join the fun.

Exhibitors from all the over the world help to make it a truly international gathering, offering everything from wildlife holidays to birding equipment, clothing to bird food, books to magazines, wildlife charities to wildlife art.

Cook Street is our exciting food zone that is rocking the live event food scene – and you can buy local produce to eat on site or take home!

Jointly organised by the Leicestershire and Rutland Wildlife Trust and the RSPB, last year Birdfair raised a record £350,000 to support Important Bird Areas in Africa. Birdfair 2017 will be raising funds for Saving Paradise in the Pacific.

Tickets are on sale at the entrances each day but you can buy your ticket/s on-line in advance and save money. Pay to enter then all the entertainment is free. On Sunday Wildlife Trust and RSPB members can buy a Concession ticket.

In addition to the daytime action, there will be ticket only evening events on Friday (Chris Packham, Mark Carwardine, Mary Colwell and Martin Hughes-Games debate whether wildlife film making should be more than armchair entertainment) and Saturday (an evening with Steve Backshall).
