Anoscopus albifrons
3 to 5mm. Males are often identifiable from photographs, females are difficult to identify. Variable in the extent of pale transverse bands, and very difficult to separate from some other species, dissection may be required.

Detailed examination of the specimen is needed to identify this species.
Can only be identified by examination of internal genital structure.
Grassy areas.
Adults June to October.
Common and widespread across Britain.
Rarely recorded in Leicestershire and Rutland.
