Bleeding Broadleaf Crust - Stereum rugosum

Description

Similar to Bleeding Oak Crust, but paler. The upper surface is smooth or slightly warty, becoming hard and crusty with age. It is coloured buff with a pink tinge, and has a paler margin. It bleeds red when damaged.

Found on a range of dead trees and shrubs, especially hazel.

Seen all year round.
