Plateumaris rustica
This plain looking brown 'Reed Beetle' is around 9mm. As with other species in the genus it has swollen femora with the hind one displaying a projecting spine.
Found in damp habitats and at water margins
Associated with plants of the Sedge family (Carex). Larvae have also been found on Marsh-marigold.
Fairly widespread in England, but fewer records from elsewhere in Britain.
Uncommon in Leicestershire and Rutland.
