Associated with decomposing material of all kinds, fungi, rotting wood, birds’ nests etc.

Mainly recorded in summer and autumn.

UK Status

Widespread and fairly frequent in Britain.

VC55 Status

Fairly frequent in Leicestershire and Rutland. There were a total of 76 VC55 records for this species up to March 2015.
