Sorrel Rust - Puccinia oxalidis
A bright orange rust fungus affecting non-native members of the Sorrel family (Oxalis), with yellow uredinia on the underside of the leaves. Telia are minute and rarely seen; aecia and spermogonia unknown in Europe. It does not cause galls.
Wherever the host species grow.
When oxalis plants are in leaf, but probably best looked for late March and during April.
The aecial stage can be found on Berberis repens.
Widespread in England and Wales but not well recorded.
There are a number of records for this species in Leicestershire and Rutland.
