Description

A grey rove beetle. It’s mainly orange legs have some black above the ‘knee’.

Usually, but not exclusively associated with damper areas and water margins.

When to see it

Peak time is summer.

UK Status

Widespread and fairly frequent in England and Wales, less common in Scotland.

VC55 Status

Fairly common in Leicestershire and Rutland. There were a total of 113 VC55 records for this species up to March 2015.
